MAX SIR
Painter / Theatre Director

My work explores the experience of collecting reality with the senses, the memory of objects in their visuality and the very meaning they have for me, translating it into pictorial language.
To me, painting is transforming the visual experience into an object.

My painting is figurative, or realistic… even though I paint abstractly; I think my way of painting is as if an abstract painting became figurative.
Finally, the reason of painting is to convey an idea that cannot be communicated in any other way.

I’m interested in decisions and how they build the reality each one of us chooses to inhabit. Each person takes that decision at some point in their life: to stay in the world given by our society or to stay in a world of our own.
